Founded in 1882 by Johann Adolf Hanhart, Hanhart has established itself as a legendary name in the world of precision timepieces, particularly known for its chronographs.
In 2022, the brand celebrated its 140th anniversary, having grown from a small watch retailer into a renowned manufacturer of high-quality watches. One of its most iconic models, the 417 ES (made from stainless steel, or "Edelstahl" in German), holds a special place in the hearts of watch enthusiasts and collectors alike.
This historic pilot’s watch, originally supplied to the German Federal Army in the 1950s, is a testament to Hanhart’s commitment to craftsmanship and innovation. To commemorate its chronograph-making heritage, Hanhart released the Panda and Reverse Panda series for its 140th anniversary, featuring a flyback design with a striking black-and-white contrast for enhanced readability.
The new, first-class AMT5100 M caliber comes from Sellita's ``Manufacture AMT`` department. It controls the chronograph via a column wheel and has a power reserve of at least 58 hours when fully wound. The AMT 5100 M caliber is traditionally wound by hand and beats at a frequency of 4 hertz. It is robust, reliable and a delight for every chronograph fan.
The hands and numerals of the Hanhart 417 ES 1954 Flyback Panda 39 are coated with Super-LumiNova® C3 GL to ensure optimum readability by day and night.
The deliberately simple screw-down case back is adorned with the historic Hanhart logo and the consecutive serial number engraved on the side. In order not to make this flyback chronograph any higher, the anti-magnetic capability is integrated into the stainless steel case back.
On the wrist, a black calfskin strap with a waistband-style carpet pad ensures a high level of comfort from day one. The Alcantara lining also promises a particularly pleasant feel against the skin. A stainless steel pin buckle with the historic Hanhart logo provides a secure hold.
The Hanhart shock protection was developed to withstand even the most extreme conditions. It offers additional protection against shocks alongside the usual factory-fitted protection mechanisms.
